Christ beareth me good company. He has eased me, when I saw it not, lifting the cross off my shoulders, so that I think it to be but a feather, because underneath are everlasting arms. - Samulel Rutherford
Hey Pam, Good to see you!! I had such fun with that, another Pastor friend tried it too and he tried the one with an Afro, lol. I liked the long hair you uses.
My wife has cancer and is in a lot of pain today. This post brought tears of joy and made her smile today!
I heard a preacher the other day say, "When we look at the cross we see how valuable we are". No, when we look at the cross we see how depraved we are! Thanks again for this post.......it was wonderful seeing my wife smile!
Ike, I am so sorry your wife is going through this trial, my prayers are with you both. What would we do without Christ? He is our strength in times of trouble. The Lord uses folks like Samuel Ruthford who wrote that quote to bring Him glory and folks like you that take a situation like yours and still find joy in it.
And amen to your comment about the Cross!
Take a pilgrimage in thought, to Gethsemane and Calvary! Gaze upon His sufferings!
He knew all the sorrows that await Him--the shame, the suffering, the anguish--but He takes the bitter cup, and, with His heart set on the salvation of His people--with His heart set on you--the blessed Savior drains it to the very dregs!
See Him on Calvary . . . unpitied by the crowd; deserted by His disciples; forsaken by His Father; the Lamb led to the slaughter; and all for you!
